As an artist & first-generation Mexican American, I have chosen oil painting as an avenue to illustrate & shape the human experience within my community. With the majority being lower to lower-middle-class America, I use my ongoing knowledge of political, cultural, & social understandings to entice juxtaposed narratives that invite the viewer in tapping into their self-consciousness. My goal is to present an awareness & give a perspective to individuals whose story has yet to be fully told. I would like my work to give light to how similar we are as inhibitors of this earth and how we can benefit from just a little bit more understanding.
